Practice Description

Ms. Stark’s practice focuses on white collar criminal and regulatory defense.  Ms. Stark has represented clients in a wide range of civil and criminal investigations concerning Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations, insider trading, financial fraud, foreign exchange trading, fraudulent pharmaceutical sales, failure to disclose automotive defects and defense contractor fraud.  In addition, Ms. Stark has been responsible for the monitorship of a major not-for-profit in New York City, which was the subject of investigations by city and state regulators, and the auditorship of a significant pharmaceutical company, which was the subject of an investigation by the Office of the Attorney General of the State of New York.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Stark served for eight years in the Division of Enforcement of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.  As an Assistant Regional Director, Ms. Stark conducted and supervised several teams of attorneys who conducted complex investigations concerning insider trading, financial fraud, investment adviser and broker dealer violations, and municipal securities fraud.  Prior to joining the SEC, Ms. Stark clerked for the Honorable Carol B. Amon on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York and worked as a litigation associate at a major international law firm.
